Psychology of high school relationships

He comes late to class
“sorry, I was just talking to coach so and so”
“that’s okay, have a seat, page 460”
Pats on the back all the way to his chair.
I just sit and stare.
Everyone, including me, knows he was in the hall way feeding some girl his lies, like he just fed the teacher.
He plays like a gentleman, and calls her ma’am.
He then makes surface level compliments to moderate to above average girls in the class.
How many “you look cute todays” does it take for him to try and notice something different?
He got your number, and he is sending some sms’s.
Telling you about every thing he second guesses
He’s insecure and you’re the cure.
You’re different, the game changer.
So you cross your fingers and talk about him in a matter of fact manner.
He likes you so much, he can’t believe it.
You start to trust it.
Then your friends start calling you reporting with his whereabouts.
You look over it, you know you’re all he cares about.
“I don’t care who he hangs out with, after all, we’re not together”

“Hey Baby”
“Hi”
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Okay?”
“Where were you last night?”
“I told you, just hanging out”
“Mhm, with who?”
“Idk, a lot of people. Why? What did you hear?”
It’s all over from there.
He promises it wasn’t anything.
He builds you back up.
With the lies that got him into that demise.
“Lets compromise”
He’s even looking in your eyes.
It ends with.
“Alright, one last try”
